Greetings All - I've been trying to find the article I read a couple of years ago which made reference to the actual percentage of RP users - I seem to remember either 4% or 6%. Can anyone reference it? Cheers! --Technopat 13:59, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
- The Cambridge Encyclopaedia of the English Language (by David Crystal) says when speaking about RP: … It is still the standard accent of the Royal Family, Parliament, the Church of England the High court and other national institutions; but less than 3% of the British people speak it in a pure from now.
