A comprehension question is a type of checking question which seeks to determine whether a text (either a written text or a spoken text) has been subject to comprehension by its audience.
They are typically found in language teaching materials. A comprehension test (reading comprehension test, listening comprehension test) typically consists of several such questions. Often these are be multiple choice questions.
Comprehension questions are generally far superior to translation as used in the grammar-translation method.
