Wales is a country that's a constituent part of the United Kingdom. It's located on a large peninsula to the west of England and to the east of Ireland over the Irish Sea.

Wales is an English-speaking country, where Welsh English is spoken, but with some areas that are Welsh-speaking and where the preservation of the Welsh is seen as politically important. Essentially all Welsh speakers can also speak English.
