EC on RW category
My bad, sorry! SuperJosh 13:00, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
- Not your bad, it's the bad of whoever invented mediawiki. Totnesmartin 13:01, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Ishmael
I have a pet theory that Cain and Abel dates back to conflicts between hunters and herders, and Esau and Jacob between herders and farmers - with the contending tribes in each case being personified as brothers. Have you ever read Ishmael by Daniel Quinn? He brings up nearly that exact theory. If you haven't it's a damn good read, I highly recommend it. --PitchBlackMind 00:46, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
- ooh, sound good! thanks mate! Totnesmartin 08:27, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

- How long for? We're contemplating coming up Thursday or Friday but nowhere to stay yet. Toast 22:29, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Until Monday. That's three RWians in the same city. Totnesmartin 22:42, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- 4 actually Marghanita Laski & I are a package: you don't get one without t'other. Toast 23:11, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm tempted to go now. If only I could afford a car, or train tickets, or didn't have a crappy job to go to. SuperJosh 23:07, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I forgot Marganita was a RWian. And after she showed us the lovely grapes and all. We're playing after midnight at the Jekyll and Hyde evry night if you want to hear a strange band playing weirdo stuff. Totnesmartin 07:51, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hey! I'm starting to feel quite jealous about all this. Hope you all have a good time. And a report on the "strange band" would be interesting.--Bob M 07:54, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm going to *try* to record/video some of it, and I'll update here/there when I'm back (don't know how online I'll be in Edinbaaa). Totnesmartin 07:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- It must be more than four. I can't be the only RationalWikian in Edinburgh... Phantom Hoover 08:09, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- WaitingforGodot visited, but that's it - certainly when she enquired, you were the only one to say you were from Edinburgh. We are thinly scattered - I think I'm the only one in Devon, although I *think* Weaseloid may be from zummerzet. Totnesmartin 08:12, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- I am sitting with Rad McCool in the same city as Pi and PJR. Partytime. Ace McWicked 08:45, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- You must all pop round PJR's and introduce yourselves. Bring a few tinnies, he might not have any. Totnesmartin 08:59, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- I guess we might have a cluster of RWans in London. Alas, I am all alone on the steppes of Kazakhstan. Genghis Khant 09:02, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Hey Martin. How was the festival thingy you did? SuperJosh 10:20, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Great fun, made an intense racket every night at the Jekyll and Hyde, and we got asked to stop playing at the Pear Tree by the management. But I never got to meet Phantom Hoover (despite asking for him at every gig) or Toast :(. Oh and two old ladies threatened to shoot us. And the act on before us was a woman giving a presentation about her sisiter dying and how miserable she felt, which kiboshed the atmosphere a bit. And my feet hurt. And there was cake. Overall, exhausting but mega fun - the best holiday I've ever had. How did you all survive the great bandwidth crisis? Totnesmartin 10:27, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- And in London I walked past Polly Harvey. Swoon! Totnesmartin 10:29, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Haha! So you actually asked for Phantom Hoover every night before you started your set? I can imagine listening to some old woman talking about her dead sister wouldn't be the highlight of the trip. I think the site was down for a bit last night after looking here, but I was out last night so I wouldn't know. Genghis was the only one who swore off Teflonpedia for a few days to help us all. SuperJosh 10:35, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- You asked for me? Uh-oh. Phantom Hoover 14:07, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry Martin, Toast wasn't there. Couldn't find anywhere to stay overnight (surprise!) so didn't go. The friends with a caravan @ Mortonhall who I'd intended to batten on had already got nine in a 4 berther as it turned out. Toast 15:40, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

- Never mind, eh? Always next year... SuperJosh 16:19, 1 September 2009 (UTC)
