There are as many teaching styles as there are teachers. The same teacher may even "adopt" different styles for teaching in different contexts, that is one-to-one, or large-sized classes, and so on.

Whatever style is adopted, Caine and Caine (1994) state that the teacher must create a state of relaxed alertness in the students, by finding the perfect balance between feeling themselves challenged on the one hand, but relaxed and not threatened, on the other.
