The /ʊə/ phoneme has disappeared from Australian speech. It has been split into the THOUGHT vowel [oː] and the disyllabic sequence [ʉə].

The /əʊ/ phoneme sounds [ɔʊ] before /l/. This means that goat /gəʊt/ [gəʉt] and goal /gəʊl/ [gɔʊl] have significantly different diphthongs.
