Language proficiency (henceforth in this article: proficiency) is a persons's proficiency in a language, i.e. to what extent they can competently use a language.
Proficiency can be described using proficiency levels
Proficiency can also be described based on macroskills, i.e. reading proficiency, writing proficiency, listening proficiency and speaking proficiency.
