George Bernard Shaw (/ʤɔ:ʤ bɜ:nəd ʃɔ:/ 1856-1950) was an Irish playwright, critic, polemicist and political activist.[1]

In terms of graded readers, there's Pygmalian[2] was available and this may also be available under the alternative title My Fair Lady at Pearson level 3,[3] or it could be a different adaptation.

Shaw is also not responsible for ghoti, though he may have popularised it. He is responsible for Henry Higgins, a comedic character who is an elocution and pronunciation teacher and linguistics professor.

Most of his works will enter the public domain soon.
