An antonym is a word which is the opposite of another word.[1]

Typical antonyms are good and bad; cheap and expensive, and so on.

A useful way of teaching vocabulary is to teach, for example, a few adjectives or verbs, with their corresponding antonyms and/or synonyms, the amount or difficulty/register possibly depending on the student's level or needs.
