A Dictionary of Modern English Usage is a prescriptivist style guide originally by Henry Watson Fowler published in 1926.[1]

There was a second edition in 1965, edited by Ernest Gowers, and a third edition, edited by Jeremy Butterfield, sometime.

This mostly concerns problems native English speakers have with English, and therefore despite its fans, which apparently include several Teflpedia editors, its usefulness to English language learners (at least below advanced levels) is limited as it fails to address problems English language learners have with English.
