Verb used intransitively

From Teflpedia

A verb used intransitively is a verb that is used intransitively, that is without a direct object. This verb must be either an intransitive verb (which must be used intransitively) or an ambitransitive verb (which may be used intransitively).

For example: “I sleep" or “He drinks".

This is in contrast with a verb used transitively.
