Greetings from me, too. Excellent stuff you've been doing there on the pronunciation/spelling pages. Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 14:14, 30 October 2013 (CDT)

Extra work...[edit]

Thanks for chucking out all those bad cats that sneaked in when I was copy-&-pasting :) --Technopat (talk) 07:41, 5 November 2013 (CST)

Essay space[edit]

The essay space is is intended to allow users to write their own personal opinions about things. Items in essay space should only be edited by the owner of that essay. Cheers.--Bob M (talk) 15:49, 7 November 2013 (CST)

User rights[edit]

Hi. I've changed your user rights so as to enable you to delete spam pages and in recognition of your good work. Cheers. --Bob M (talk) 03:19, 13 November 2013 (CST)

Teflpedia unreachable during backup[edit]

Hi Ghoti, Teflpedia was temporarily unreachable while I was backing up the database tonight. May happen again in a moment as I complete the backup. Noticed you are editing tonight and wanted to let you know. Also, hi and Welcome to Teflpedia! :-) Roger (talk) 21:00, 20 November 2013 (CST)

Backup is done. Teflpedia should work normally now. Roger (talk) 21:17, 20 November 2013 (CST)

Greetings and... butcher's[edit]

Greetings Ghoti. Could you have a butcher's at my latest edit. It's been a long day & don't feel particularly inspired right now, so I'd be grateful if you could make the necessary tweaks. Regs., --Technopat (talk) 22:23, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

Welcome messages[edit]

Hi. Could you tell me why you are deleting welcome messages? I'm sure you have a good reason for it but I can't quite see what it is. Thanks.--Bob M (talk) 20:02, 2 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for holding down the fort here. I've been referring to this resource for a while, perhaps half a year or more. (I may have found it as a search engine result for minimal pairs or something to do with vowel shifts.) Not until I made an account to make an edit did I realize that only one user was active in the past 30 days.

Why delete the so-called "easy" pronunciations? Even if they are "basic" to a native English speaker, English orthography is notoriously weird, and even basic letters like "a" can represent several different vowels depending on context.--Odin (talk) 14:26, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

Potential subpages[edit]

Ghoti, you complained to me that by adding new pronunciations, the list on verbs used in computing will get very long, how about we subdivide the page into entries based on alphabetical order?--Odin (talk) 00:10, 11 December 2018 (UTC)

Ghoti, thank you for helping clear out the new spam-bot users and their spam pages. Very helpful! Are we getting more new user spam than before? I turned off QuestyCaptcha briefly a few days ago and got 30+ new user spam pages in a couple hours. Cleaned that up and turned on reCaptcha, which is helping but maybe not as well as QuestyCaptcha did. I can switch back to QuestyCaptcha anytime. However, looks better from a real user's perspective maybe. So I'm thinking let's run with reCaptcha a wile longer to see how it performs on average over a period of a week perhaps. Okay with you? --Roger (talk) 11:51, 8 January 2019 (CST)

Wikigogy at Wikia seems to be gone. You put a link to it at bottom of Wikigogy a while back. Do you know anything more about it? Perhaps you might annotate that entry or just delete it? --Roger (talk) 17:52, 11 January 2019 (UTC)

Got your reply on my Talk page. I couldn't find Wikigogy on Wikia, so I removed the Wikia link from Wikigogy. Regards! --Roger (talk) 19:07, 14 January 2019 (UTC)

I am still figuring out how to do Google Adsense ads on Telfpedia. When they start up, the placement may be awkward at first. It may take some time for me to figure out how to control ads. For example, I hope to restrict ads to only appear in "Main:", "Lesson:", and "Essay:" namespace. I will try to. I would also like to have no ads show for logged in users, but I don't know how do that. Where the ads show up on the page may be awkward at first. Currently Teflpedia is in a review waiting period imposed by Google, before ads start. So it may be several days before ads start. When they do, please let me know if you see anything that needs my attention. Thank you! It is just you and me on deck these days. --Roger (talk) 21:04, 16 January 2019 (UTC)

Recent anonymous edits[edit]

Hi. Someone has been contributing new pages anonymously recently. That is not you is it? Because we are proxied through AWS servers currently, IP addresses are not a practical way to track anonymous edits. So I hope our new friend will log in soon and give us a proper hello. He is using IPA in a few pages. I don't read IPA, myself. If you are willing, his edits could use a proofread by you, till he proves his mettle. I will avoid marking IPA edits as patrolled, so that you might readily find them for proofreading, if you are willing. Cheers! Roger (talk) 17:42, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

I'm a great fan of IPA, and you should learn it! I'll be glad to proofread these edits using the patrolling feature. Ghoti (talk) 19:43, 26 April 2019 (UTC)

DISPLAYTITLE magic -- would you like to try this for displaying normal brackets in page titles?[edit]

Hi Ghoti, Duncan has suggested something that might let us display normal square brackets in IPA phonetic character page titles (although not in those pages' actual page names). Would you like to try this? Please replay on Duncan's talk page, where this came up. Thanks! --Roger (talk) 05:55, 29 May 2019 (UTC)
