Urban Dictionary

Urban Dictionary (/ɜ:bən dɪkʃənri/) is an online dictionary of slang. Definitions may be provided by the public, and they can be voted by users. Some popular words may have hundreds of definitions. The order of the definitions uses the difference between positive votes and negative votes.

It has a some advantages over dictionaries rigorously written by lexicographers, due to its crowdsourcing in that neologisms may be defined well before they make the print dictionary. However, many “definitions” are actually jokes, many of them sexual and/or scatological in nature. However, like many things on the Internet it is “quick and dirty,” so users have to use their own judgement as to the validity of the definitions.

It is also blocked in China.
