Turned letter

From Teflpedia

A turned letter or upside-down letter is a letter that’s turned through 180°.

In the days of printing, this was easy to achieve by literally turning the letters upside down.

The open O (lowercase turned C), schwa letter (lowercase turned E), lowercase turned R, lowercase turned V, and turned Latin alpha are all used in IPA.[1]

Contrast mirrored letter.
