Those who can, do; those who can't, teach is a critical proverb about teachers.

The first recorded use is by George Bernard Shaw in his play Man and Superman, though he was talking about revolutionaries[1] rather than teachers.

Woody Allen also quipped: "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach; those who can't teach, teach gym."

So who teaches TEFL?
