Third person singular

From Teflpedia

The third person singular is a numbered grammatical person consisting of singular use of the third person.

Type Masculine Feminine Neuter Generic one
Subject pronoun he she it one
Object pronoun him her it one
Dependent possessive pronoun his her its one’s
Independent possessive determiner his hers - -
Reflexive pronoun himself herself itself oneself

In English, this is the only numbered grammatical person that is marked for sexual gender, though as an alternative singular they can be used, which is singular usage of the third person plural form.

With be, the third person takes the conjugation "is" in the present tense and "was" in the past tense. Other verbs take forms of the third person -s in the present tense, unlike other numbered grammatical persons.
