Third person form

From Teflpedia

The 3rd person form is the verb form of a verb used in the 3rd person singular, present tense and indicative mood. In English, with the exception of “be,” all these consist of the base form inflected with the third person -s suffix. “Have” takes a 3rd person -s but does so with a spelling change from "*haves" to "has.” The 3rd person form of “be” is “are"; be also has a special past tense 3rd person form "were.”

This inflection only affects the present tense; the past tense form is always the preterite. It also only affects the indicative mood.
