Theta

From Teflpedia

Θ (lower case θ), called theta (/ˈθi:tə/) is the eighth letter of the Greek alphabet.[1]

In Greek-to-English loans, it’s transliterated as ⟨th⟩, e.g. mathematics, theatre, sympathise, etc.

In IPA a lower case θ represents the voiceless dental fricative.

It’s also used in theta theory, which is part of generative grammar.

It shouldn’t be confused with the barred O letter Ɵ.
