Thesis

From Teflpedia

A thesis (/'θi:sɪs/, plural theses (/'θi:si:z/)) is a statement that is supported by arguments.[1]

A "thesis statement" (/ˈθi:sɪs ˈsteɪtmənt/) is a phrase often used to describe a thesis, particularly when it is found in an essay. It gives a concise summary of the main point or claim of the essay, research paper, etc. It is typically placed as the final sentence within an introductory paragraph. Thesis summary would perhaps be a better term.
