Talk:Vocabulary ELT games
This list of games is kinda long. Makes it a great list but hard to absorb. If you have extra details or variation ideas to add about a particular vocabulary game here, it may be best to create a separate page for that and link to it from the brief description of the game in this list. You could put the link in this page, eg [[name of page here]], and then follow that link to create a detailed page about it.
If anyone thinks of a good way to divide the games here into types, that might provide a helpful way to break this long list into sections (with type headings), which might or might not make the page easier to absorb.
Can this page be transformed into a category list? There could be sub-categories of target language e.g. "general vocabulary", "adverbs". "adjectives" etc. Then under each sub-category there would a list of all the games which are applicable, and so some would appear in more than one list. --Jameson2000ad 11:42, 21 October 2012 (CDT)
- That sounds great. However, I'm not sure how we might do that in a simple manner with MediaWiki. Perhaps we can let the Table of Contents (TOC) at page top provide this navigation function. To make that work well on a page of this size, we can reduce the levels of headers by changing ===Header here=== to '''Header here''', which is bold and looks like a header without being one and thus is not listed in the TOC. I'll do it to show what I mean. --Roger 12:41, 21 October 2012 (CDT)
- That´s what the doctor ordered - much easier to navigate!

Response to stickies
One solution might be to create a Vocabulary games category and then give each game its own page. That would enable internal linking to specific games and make editing games (specifically reversions) simpler. However, the downside would be that any users browsing for ideas won`t be able browse activity objectives, making finding ideas harder... --Jameson2000ad 17:15, 30 October 2012 (CDT)
