Talk:Number of speakers of English

From Teflpedia

Stub for now. Going to work on this later.--Bob M 19:40, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Some great mileage to be had here! Food for thought: are deaf or deafdumb people speakers of a language or "users"? Cheers! --Technopat 10:44, 26 July 2009 (UTC)
Hi TP. I must admit that I hadn't thought of that angle. Though I guess that one would consider them to be "users" rather than "speakers". When I made the stub I was really thinking about what level of the spoken language people would need to have to be "speakers of English".--Bob M 17:15, 26 July 2009 (UTC)

I have cut the following as I'm not sure what it is meant to be doing.

*cut begins:

  • Native English speakers
  • Speakers of English as a second language
  • Speakers of English as a foreign language

*cut ends.
