Spelling alphabet
From Teflpedia
A spelling alphabet is an alphabet used for spelling, consisting of words, each of which represents a different letter of the alphabet.
Usually each word begins with the letter it represents; though this can be difficult for X since so few English words begin with letter X, and those which do tend to begin with /z/ rather than /eks/, such as xylophone.[1]
The NATO phonetic alphabet is a spelling alphabet rather than a phonetic alphabet.
