A specialism (/speʃəlɪzm/) or teaching specialism is an area of activity, work, or study that a teacher concentrates on or is expert in.
Typical specialisms include teaching young learners, teaching teenagers, teaching adults, teaching older learners, EAP, ESP, testing, teacher training, management, CLIL, etc.
Other less common specialisms include teaching visually impaired learners and teaching hearing impaired learners.
