Single past event

From Teflpedia
(Redirected from Single past action)

A single past action is a single event that occurred in past time.

For example, the United States declared independence on 4th July 1776.

In English, to describe such an event, we tend to use the historic past, thereby using the past simple to describe such events. However, less commonly we would use the historic present instead.

Contrast repeated past event.
