A sign language (/ˈsaɪn ˈlæŋ(g)wɪʤ/) is a language that is signed by visual-manual movement to convey meaning.[1]

In the English-speaking world there exists principally both British Sign Language, (BSL) American Sign Language (ASL), neither of which is particularly like spoken or written English. Other sign languages exist.
