Short passive
From Teflpedia
A short passive or agentless passive is a passive voice clause that lacks an indication of a semantic agent.[1][2] In English, for example, we can say:
- Trump was voted out of office.
The agents in this case are American voters, and this is so obvious it doesn’t need to be stated. The agent may also be unknown or unimportant.
Contrast long passive.
