A Mongolian boy riding a horse.

Ride is an English verb, though these days people are more likely to ride a bicycle.

Ride is an irregular lexical verb; it has the 3rd person form "rides", the -ing form "riding" but an irregular preterite "rode" and an irregular past participle "ridden". The latter two may be over-regularised to *"rided". This is the same irregular verb pattern as "drive", "rise" and "write". One who rides is a rider.
