Rhotic accent

From Teflpedia

A rhotic accent is an accent that possesses rhoticity.

The archetypal modern rhotic accent of English is General American, and most other North American accents. In Europe, the West Country accent is traditionally rhotic (but in the process of losing its rhotic qualities). Most Irish accents are rhotic, as are most Scottish accents.
