Reading age

From Teflpedia

Reading age is a measure of a child’s reading proficiency compared to the norm for a native speaker of their language. Some children read better than their actual age, whilst others read less well. As a measure, it is somewhat inappropriate for foreign language learners however, who tend to read less well in their L2 (which is often English) than native-speaking children their own age do in their L1.
