From Teflpedia

A process (/ˈprəʊses/) is a series of events which produce a product.[1]

An example of a process is lesson planning which produces a lesson plan which is a product.

Occasionally, one word may refer to both a process and its product, for example writing is a process that produces writing (for this reason, our article on the product is actually at written text).
