Pit Corder

Stephen Pit Corder (1918 – 1990) was Professor of Applied linguistics at the University of Edinburgh for over 20 years until his retirement in 1983.[1]
Stephen Krashen acknowledges Corder’s inspiration in developing his own Theory of second language acquisition.[2]
Corder was the first president (1967–1970) of the British Association for Applied Linguistics.[3]
