Pidgin

From Teflpedia

A pidgin (/ˈpɪʤɪn/) is a language created when two groups who speak different languages are forced to communicate, typically due to trade.[1]

A pidgin may develop into a creole if it becomes the first language of a community.

Colloquially or outside of linguistics, "pidgin English" may refer to low level and/or inaccurate learner English.

The word pidgin is homophonous with pigeon - a common type of bird.
