Person concord

From Teflpedia

Person concord or person agreement is concord with regard to grammatical person.

In English, there are two types:

  • Phoric concord - a pronoun must agree with its referent in terms of grammatical number. (e.g. one can't use "he" to refer to a group of people instead of "they").
  • Subject-verb agreement - a verb must agree with its subject.
