Past simple form
Second form is one of the two names (the other being remote form) suggested by Michael Lewis in The English Verb for that form of the verb used for the Past Simple tense. In the tables of principal parts of irregular verbs traditionally learnt by students - go - went- gone, for example, the form listed second is the second form.
