Nor is an English coordinating conjunction.[1][2]

Form[edit | edit source]

Nor is the negative form of or, consisting of negative n- with or.

Neither pairs with nor, e.g. I like neither tea nor coffee.

Nor is also used with subject-verb inversion e.g. I don’t like tea. Nor do I like coffee.

Appropriacy[edit | edit source]

Nor is less commonly used in speech than in writing. English speakers tend to negate the verb, so they would tend to say, for example, I don't like tea or coffee rather than I like neither tea nor coffee.
