List

From Teflpedia

A list (/lɪst/) is a register consisting of a compilation or enumeration of a set of possible list items.[1] They are a useful way of conveying information.

For example, this is a list of common English word classes:

noun, verb, adjective, adverb, pronoun, preposition, conjunction, interjection

Lists are typically separated by lines or by commas (a comma-separated list). Lists may be sorted into a particular order, for example, alphabetical order, or temporal order.

Lists may also form part of larger texts. These are often multilevel lists (bulleted lists or numbered lists), or written as an information table with several columns. They may also be included as appendices within a larger text. Longer reference works such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, glossaries and thesauruses are usually written as a list. A topic index found at the back of a book is also a list.

Another example; word lists that are commonly used in MFL teaching.
