B (/bi:/ lower case b) is the second letter of the Latin alphabet, as used in English, but the 1st consonant letter.

There are two forms: lowercase B and uppercase B.

[[Lower case b]] is symetrical with lower case d, and learners may confuse them, especially those with dyslexia.

B forms a monograph ⟨b⟩, digraphs ⟨bb⟩, ⟨mb⟩ and ⟨bu⟩.


In the International Phonetic Alphabet, the lower case b represents a voiced bilabial plosive [b].
