Language reform

From Teflpedia

Language reform involves promoting and mandating language change that is seen as being desirable. In English there are two main types; spelling reform, which seeks to simplify spelling, and socially conscientious language reform, which advocates things like gender-neutral language. Much traditional prescriptivism is also reformist, insofar as it tells people that they are "making mistakes" with their language and how they ought to speak/write more logically.
