Initial consonant cluster /ʃl/

From Teflpedia

/ʃl/ is an initial consonant cluster that occurs marginally in English.

Where it does occur, it tends to be in German-to-English loans, Yiddish-to-English loans. The spelling is schl, like schlep, schlup, schlump, schlemiel, and few other words. It may also occur in some surnames of German origin.

English phonotactics naturally prefers initial consonant cluster /sl/ in such positions.
