Help talk:Template

From Teflpedia

We say:

  • For example, {{:Michael Lewis}} will transclude an exact copy of that page (when you alter the page, anywhere that transcludes it will also display the change) like so (without the lines above and below which have been added on this page):

But later we say:

  • Mainspace articles are transcluded using ":": {{:pagename}}.

What is the purpose of the - ":": - in the second example? It seems to contradict the Michael Lewis example. Is it just a tyop or have I missed something? Thanks. --Bob M 07:45, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

right second time. The ":" is there to show it's mainspace, not Template space, It's there in the first example {{:Michael Lewis}}. I copied the page from RW & had to change things a bit: thought at the time it was as clear as mud but went to bed without sorting it. Will do so after tea. Toast 15:13, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
