The voiced velar plosive has the following features:
- Its manner of articulation is a plosive, which means that the airflow is completely obstructed before being released.
- Its place of articulation is velar, which means that the sound is produced by the back of the tongue making contact with the soft part of the roof of the mouth, called the velum.
- It’s a voiced consonant, which means that the vocal cords vibrate during the articulation of the sound.
