Hard G

From Teflpedia

Hard G involves the use of the letter G, specifically ⟨g⟩, as a hard letter to represent a g phoneme /g/] sound, which is sometimes known as a hard G sound. Contrast soft G.

It is “hard” because it represents a plosive sound.

G is always hard when with R or L. It’s always hard with ga, go, gu. One exception is margarine.
