Coordination (grammar)

From Teflpedia
(Redirected from Grammatical co-ordination)

Grammatical co-ordination (alternatively coordination) or parataxis (plural: parataxes) is a grammatical function that involves the joining of words, phrases, or clauses of the same type.[1]

Coordination can be split into two types; syndetic coordination and asyndetic coordination.

In English syndetic coordination is achieved with coordinating conjunctions (alternatively coordinators).
