George Orwell

George Orwell (/ˈʤɔ:(r)ʤ ˈɔ:(r)wel/) was the pen name of Eric Arthur Blair (/ˈerɪk ˈɑ:(r)θə(r) ˈbleə(r)/, 1903-1950), a British author.

Pearson/Penguin Graded readers have graded readers of his novels Nineteen Eighty-Four (level 4, pre-intermediate, 1700 headwords) and Animal Farm (level 6, advanced, 3000 headwords).

Orwell worked as a teacher in the UK briefly between 1932 and 1934.
