George Carlin (/ˈʤɔ:(r)ʤ ˈkɑ:(r)lɪn/; 1937-2008) was a comedian, social critic and author, who had an unusual contribution to English linguistics, by identifying the "seven dirty words" that were banned from public broadcast in the United States.
