Frequency adverb

An adverb of frequency (/ædvɜ:b əv fri:kwənsi/) is a type of time adverb that indicates frequency, basically gives information about how often something happens.

They can be divided into two types:

Type Expresses Example(s)
Indefinite frequency adverb Indefinite frequency "always", "often", "sometimes", "usually", "never", etc
Definite frequency adverb Definite frequency "daily", "weekly", "monthly", etc

In pedagogical grammar, numeral adverbs are sometimes misidentified as frequency adverbs.
