Frequency adverb

From Teflpedia

A frequency adverb (/fri:kwənsi ædvɜ:b/) is a type of time adverb that indicates frequency, basically giving information about how often something happens.

English has two types of frequency adverbs:

Type Expresses Example(s)
Indefinite frequency adverb Indefinite frequency "always", "often", "sometimes", "usually", "never", etc
Definite frequency adverb Definite frequency "daily", "weekly", "monthly", etc

In pedagogical grammar, the indefinite frequency adverbs are often just called "adverbs of frequency", and definite frequency adverbs are ignored. Also, numeral adverbs are sometimes misidentified as frequency adverbs.
