Choice of font is especially important for screen-based material such as PowerPoint presentations. There are two basic types of font to choose from: serif, as in Times New Roman; and sans serif, as in Arial.

While seriffed fonts are traditionally used for body text on paper, especially for books or formal documents, most Web pages employ sans-serif fonts.

As with handouts, font size should also be considered, as not all students have 20-20 vision.

Using a dyslexic-friendly font may help dyslexic students read better.
