Feel

From Teflpedia

Feel (/fi:l/) is an English verb. It is a sense-related verb, related to touch.

Feel can function as a copular verb, e.g. “I feel great.”

Feel is an irregular lexical verb. It has the third person form “feels" (/fi:lz/), the -ing form feeling /fi:lɪŋ(g)/; the preterite and past participle are “felt" (/felt/). The sound pattern is the same as deal (with a minor spelling difference). Learners may over-regularise the preterite and past participle to *"feeled.”

Feel can also be a reporting verb and introduce a relative clause, e.g. “I feel that you are not studying hard enough!"
