Echo correction
From Teflpedia
Echo correction is an error correction technique where the teacher repeats a learner error with a rising intonation, encouraging the learner to engage in self-correction, or peer correction if the self-correction is unsuccessful.
For example, the following exchange might occur in an EFL classroom:
- Student: “Bart go skateboarding.”
- Teacher: “Bart go skateboarding?”
- Student: “Bart goes skateboarding.”
