Dependent pronoun

A dependent pronoun is a pronoun that is used as a determiner. That is, it syntactically determines a noun that acts as the phrasal head of a noun phrase.
Various English pronouns can be used as determiners, including:

In traditional grammar, these were somehow misanalysed as adjectives, despite their not being adjectives. Nevertheless, this nonsensical terminology is still often found in pedagogical grammar.
